Even though the first day of spring isn’t for another couple of weeks, there are already signs that winter is nearing its end. The days are getting longer, the air is getting warmer, and spring bulbs are starting to bud. Spring also means more things to do, and there are quite a few Friends-related events coming up.
Don’t miss the library’s Uniquely Spotsylvania art show. The exhibition, which focuses on artistic works that showcase the unique Spotsylvania experience, runs March 4 - April 30 at Salem Church Branch. There will be a reception with light refreshments to announce the award winners on March 13, 6:30-7:30. The Friends of the Library sponsor the art show's cash prizes as well as the reception and we would love to see you there!
April is Membership Month, and we are kicking it off this year with a special book sale. Over at the Friends of the Library Center and Bookshop, we've been storing the best donations to offer in the sale. Friends will have the opportunity to shop the never-before-seen items first! The bookshop will be closed April 1-4 to get ready for a Friends-only preview sale to be held April 4, 5:00-9:00 at the Friends of the Library Center and Bookshop. Invite your friends who are not Friends - they can join at the door and shop the preview evening with you! The sale will then be open to the public April 5 and 7, 10:00-6:00, and April 8-9, 10:00-5:00.
Your membership is what allows the Friends of the Library to support library events such as the Uniquely art shows, the upcoming Music on the Steps concert series, and so many more initiatives that inspire lifelong learning for everyone in our community.
