Dear Friends,
We loved celebrating you during National Friends of the Library Week (October 20-26). Our book sale was a great success–we raised more than $4,500 in support of the library! Thank you to everyone who shopped, brought a friend, and spread the word about our organization.
Speaking of Friends of the Library Week, congratulations again to Margaret Hein, the winner of the gift basket raffle. We hope you are enjoying your cozy fall treats, Margaret!
I also wanted to include a special shout out to Penny Parrish. Penny, a longtime Friend, writes book reviews for the FXBG Advance and included a plug for the Friends of the Library Center and Bookshop in her review of Songs of America in the October 12, 2024 Sunday Books & Culture column. She found her copy of the 2019 book on our shelves! Thank you, Penny, for sharing your find with our community as well as sharing details about our great bookshop.
I’m sure many of you are already thinking about preparing for Thanksgiving and all of the seasonal celebrations that follow. Plan to stay home and avoid the Black Friday crowds; instead, stop by the Friends of the Library Center and Bookshop for our Friday before Thanksgiving sale on November 22 (10:00-6:00) and do your holiday shopping. We have a great selection of books and DVDs for everyone on your list and all purchases will be 20% off! Don’t forget to pick up something for yourself - the holidays can be overwhelming and snuggling up with a book is a great way to unplug from the busyness of this time of year.
Thank you for being a Friend -
