Dear Friends,

April is fast approaching and is lining up to be a busy month for libraries everywhere, and CRRL is no exception. National Library Week will be celebrated April 7-13. The theme this year is Ready, Set, LIBRARY! All week long, we will be celebrating everything the library offers. If you visit a library branch this week, remember to thank an employee for the part they do to provide library services to our community.

Mark your calendar for Monday, April 15 -- not because of taxes, but because it is the Friends of the Library ANNUAL MEETING. In the past, we have held the annual meeting in December, but this year marks a change, not just in season, but in venue, as well. I am so excited about this meeting, and, when you read the details below, you will understand why! You will not want to miss this one!

Annual Meeting

Join us Monday, April 15, at 6:30, at the Friends of the Library Center & Bookshop for our Annual Meeting, featuring author Debra Freeman.

Debra Freeman is a food writer who focuses on African American culinary history. Debra will talk about the Virginia origins of three well-known foods: mac & cheese, BBQ, and fried chicken.

Members will enjoy the very foods our special guest will be speaking about. And since it will be Membership Month, you can join or renew at the meeting and collect your membership reward on the spot!
