Thank you to all who have already donated to the Friends through the Topside Cares campaign! This fundraiser is a great way to celebrate 50 years of educational and entertaining events provided free of charge to the community thanks to sponsorship by the Friends.

Most of you regularly take advantage of our book sales, the small book shops in branches, and the larger Friends Center & Bookshop on Olde Greenwich Drive. The sales and shops are a bargain--and will remain so! However, we have determined that some price adjustments are necessary for the bookshop and for book sales. Prices have remained the same for many years, and the Friends made this decision due to the rising costs of supporting current library initiatives.

Included in this email is a list of price adjustments scheduled to go into effect next month. Please note that the increases are minimal and that all monthly book sales will still include half-price days and other incentives.

These slight adjustments will enable the Friends to continue to support our library’s mission. Thank you again for your continued commitment and support!

Your Donation Is Doubled -- For Free!

The Topside Cares fundraising campaign for the Friends is underway! Topside Federal Credit Union will match all donations made to the Friends through the end of March, up to a maximum of $2,500. That means the Friends could potentially raise $5,000 to support library programs, such as Music on the Steps, Library Speakers Consortium Author Talks, the Johnny P. Johnson Teen Art Show, and the Claudia Emerson Teen Poetry Contest.

Westmoreland book sale prices will not change. These prices will go into effect February 1.
