Hello Friends,

It was great to see so many of you at the annual meeting on December 7. It was an opportunity to thank you for your ongoing support of our wonderful library system.

There are so many reasons to be grateful for Friends!

1. For speaking up for our library, using the tools at crrlfriends.org/advocacy, following the Friends on Facebook, and for showing up at the September 12 Board meeting

2. For sponsoring the 37th Annual Music on the Steps, bringing vibrant live music to Fredericksburg Branch

3. For sponsoring the Library Consortium Author Talk series, with New York Times-bestselling authors and thought leaders

4. For sponsoring author Dr. Ibram X. Kendi’s presentation at Germanna Community Conversations

5. For providing prizes for the Uniquely Spotsylvania Art Show

6. For sponsoring the library's participation in Via Colori Stafford

7. For providing a sweet treat for teachers to help them start the school year off right

8. For supporting CRRL staff development to make the library’s staff even greater

9. For volunteering and shopping at Friends’ book sales in the spring and fall, our summer sales for teachers, and our Friday Before Thanksgiving Sale

And a big thanks to the wonderful author who spoke at our annual meeting. Mike Hill shared insights and anecdotes from his writing career and from the development of his book, Funny Business: The Legendary Life and Political Satire of Art Buchwald. Mike was a great speaker, and we had a good time listening to his stories.
