Over the past few months, I have truly appreciated the library's online offerings and absolutely loved curbside pickup. I am so thrilled that the library branches are open again. With winter approaching, I gather books like a squirrel gathers nuts! Kudos to library staff and administration for making customer and staff safety a priority.

I want to thank everyone who has contributed to the Friends of the Library this past year. Your membership and commitment have helped the library at a very crucial time. Now, more than ever, we need your voice. There is more information below on how you can advocate and express your support for the Central Rappahannock Regional Library.

Make Your Voice Heard

As the Stafford County Board of Supervisors and others discuss how library funds are spent, this is an opportunity for Friends, especially those living in Stafford County, to speak up.

We've added a page to the Friends website at crrlfriends.org/advocacy that highlights some of the amazing services and cost savings gained by the way CRRL uses funds to support our community. There are some powerful ways Friends can contribute to this discussion, by letters to the editor, by phone and email, and on social media.

Membership Rewards

Thanks to all the Friends who joined or renewed during our April Membership Drive, or since then. Given the unprecedented situation, we are offering membership rewards to those who join or renew by November 30!

All Friends who renew or join between April 1 and November 30, 2020 will receive a membership reward. Details on picking up your reward will be included in the next Friends Newsletter.

Election Day

Early in-person voting continues through Saturday, October 31, and Election Day is Tuesday, November 3. The library has resources at librarypoint.org/voting-answers to help you check your voter registration, voting location, and absentee ballot.

Giant Food Community Bag Promotion

Porter Branch has been selected by their local Giant Food store for November's Community Bag Program!

For the month of November, the Friends of the Library will receive a $1 donation from each purchase of a $2.50 reusable Community Bag at the Giant Food located on 317 Worth Avenue in Stafford.

Free Credit Union Membership

Friends are eligible to become members of the Virginia Credit Union and Topside Credit Union, with no application fee!

To sign up for the Virginia Credit Union click here, and use referral code 7912. Then complete the easy form, selecting Central Rappahannock Regional Library as your organization.

Volunteers Make the Friends Great

We need volunteers to work in the Friends Bookshop so we'll be ready when it's time to reopen. There will be training on the new safety protocols to help keep us all safe.
