Hello, Friends,

At last! Our first big book sale in over a year and a half is almost here! I hope you are as excited as I am. Since the library began accepting donations again, we have received an overwhelming number of donated items. Among them are some real treasures and, though we put out new titles in the shop every day, we are saving some of the best for you! Please join us on Friday, August 27, for the Friends preview. Don’t worry if you have not renewed your membership; you can join at the door!

We have had a small core group of dedicated volunteers helping in the shop these past few months, but, as book sale time approaches, we need more help. Please let me know if you can help out the week leading up to the sale or during the sale. Email me at candace.schmidt@crrlfriends.org.

I cannot wait to see you all at the sale!

Candace Schmidt, Friends President

Blowout Book Sale!

Our first book sale of the year will kick off Friday, August 27, 5:00-8:00 at the Friends Center and Bookshop, 125 Olde Greenwich Drive, Suite 150, Fredericksburg, Virginia, 22408. This evening will be a special preview for Friends only. (Non-members can join at the door.) Everyone gets a free item valued at $10 or less.

Saturday, August 28, and Monday, August 30, 10:00-3:00 - All items are half price.

Tuesday, August 31, 10:00-3:00 - All items in the main bookshop are half price; all items in the back room and the warehouse priced at $1.00/bag.

We've been going through tons of donations and have a great selection of previously owned materials at bargain prices, including books, movies, music, and audiobooks.

The Library Is Open for Business! And they've expanded hours at all branches, so make the most of longer daylight hours during summer to visit a branch. Browse the collection, check out materials, and use computers. Help us spread the word that the library is open!

Volunteers: In order to keep the Friends Bookshop running smoothly and process the backlog of donated items, we need plenty of volunteers. If you're willing to complete the state-required training and pitch in, please email Candace.
